Christ's baptism is one of the primary commemorations of Theophany, and is always a parallel commemoration with Christ's birth. On the day of Theophany, Christ's baptism is commemorated with the service of the Blessing of the Water. The cross is immersed in blessed water and then taken out again, symbolizing the baptism of Jesus Christ by the John the Baptist in the River Jordan. Following the Service, parishioners will have an opportunity to take some of the blessed water home.
Following Church services, join us with your family for the Armenian Christmas Luncheon, sponsored by the Sunday School, and open to all. During the luncheon, there wll be a short presentation by the students of the Armenian School.
Requiem Service (Hokehankisd) will not be performed on this morning. Requests for Hokehankisd will be conducted on Sunday, January 14, as Merelotz (Memorial Day).
On the occasion of the New Year and Holy Season of Armenian Christmas, the Pastor and Parish Council of Holy Trinity Armenian Church extend to its parishioners sincere good wishes for a New Year filled with God's manifold blessings.
Christmas Offering (Youghakin)
In the Armenian Church, we have the beautiful custom of Youghakin, "Gift oil for the lamp." Help our church lamps to burn and never go out. Be generous and God will be generous in His mercy and blessings. Contact the Church office to make a donation.
